FAQ'S

FAQ's
  • What firewood do you offer?

In our standard range we offer Alder firewood, Birch firewood, Oak firewood,  Ash firewood and Hornbeam firewood, kiln dried, air dried and seasoned. Occasionally we have in stock other wood species, so please inquire separately.

  • Is firewood dry and ready to burn?

Yes, we mainly sell kiln dried (oven dried) logs with moisture level below 20%. Our kiln dried logs are made to comply with Ready to Burn requirements, which means that you will receive quality logs. Occasionally we also offer seasoned (air dried) logs and even fresh wood.

  •  Why kiln dried logs are so popular?

These logs are dried in special kilns (industrial grade ovens) until they reach low moisture levels. No matter which wood species you prefer as your firewood, it is as good as it is dry. Because of the low moisture level, kiln dried logs offer higher heat output, produce less smoke and are more eco-friendly than wet or fresh logs. Burning dry firewood also means less harmful deposits in your chimney and less.

  • What is the best wood species to burn?

It always depends on your preference and price. Kiln dried Ash is one of the classic best sellers, which gives high heat output and long burning time.  Oak and Hornbeam logs are becoming more and more popular as they are one of the most dense wood species, which offer a longer heat output, especially if properly dried. Birch as a slightly “softer” hardwood offer goods burning qualities and really good value for money.

  • How are the logs packed?

We offer firewood in big crates, small crates, mesh and plastic bags of various sizes. Our standard mesh bags sizes are: 20L bags, 22L bags and 40L bags. We also offer firewood in carton boxes, camping oriented Flame box sets and other packing options.

In most cases our clients prefer that we take care of the delivery, which makes the whole process even more simple. All you have to do is to unload the goods once they are delivered to your site. We deliver hundreds of sea containers and trucks with firewood, kindling, Swedish torches, firelighters, pellets, briquettes and other products each year, so we have good transportation rates. If you would prefer to take care of transportation yourself, that’s not a problem.

  • How long does it take to get the order delivered to me?

It depends on the order and the country of delivery. Normally we can prepare an order within 1-3 weeks. For example, delivery of a container to the UK and Ireland takes around 2 weeks and delivery of a truck to such countries as Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark takes around 3-5 days.

  • How do I know when the order will reach me?

We always inform our clients in advance about the estimated arrival times. After the loading we will send some photos, truck or container numbers and transportation documents, such as Bill of Lading or CMR together with estimated arrival dates.

  • Is it possible to have products with personalized packing?

Yes, most of the products can have personalized packing or labels. For firewood and kindling, we can offer plastic bags with full print, mesh bags with paper/carton labels or carton boxes with stickers or print. Other products, such as wood wool firelighters, cube firelighters and smoking chips, can be packed in boxes or bags with your design with no extra charge. There are many different packing options for different products, so please feel free to consult us and we will provide the best possible options for a specific inquiry.

  • What is kindling used for?

In short, kindling makes ignition of larger logs easier. Kindling is thin pieces of wood which can be ignited with a firelighter, tinder, piece of paper and then used to properly inflame the logs or briquettes. Just like your firewood, you need your kindling to be properly dry. We offer kiln dried kindling sticks, which can be packed in mesh and plastic bags, and carton boxes. We make sure that kindling is really dry, with moisture levels below 15%.

  • What firelighters do you offer?

Our best sellers are the classical cube (brown) firelighters and wood wool firelighters, also known as twisted firelighters, flamers, etc. The cube firelighters, made from compressed sawdust and mix of oils, are sold in convenient pre-cut plates. Wood wool firelighters are made from wood shavings dipped in waxes. Both types of firelighters are eco-friendly, neutral-scented and FSC certified. We offer various size packing options with the possibility of custom box or bag design.

  • What is a Swedish torch?

A Swedish torch or a Vulcano as we call it, is a convenient source of light and heat ideal for picnics, hiking, fishing, camping and beach parties. It is as simple and as natural as it gets – a kiln dried log with special cuts for better air flow and ignition, together with a firelighter and a convenient linen rope for carrying. It can also be used for food preparation as you can simply put a pan or a pot on an ignited torch. Really eco-friendly as it burns completely so you do not have to worry about trash.
